The athletes referenced on the list above will now be facing either a two or four year ban from competing in the competitive CrossFit seasons based on the substance they tested positive for. More details may follow depending on CrossFit HQ's decision per each athlete's case.
This news is huge and has already begun to shake up the CrossFit community. Yesterday, Annie Thorisdottir shared in her Instagram story that Frederik Aegidius (6th place finisher in the European Regional) would be heading to the 2018 Reebok CrossFit Games. While it wasn't confirmed by CrossFit HQ until today's list release, many speculated that Aegidius was offered a spot after one of the top five finishers in the European Regional had tested positive for a banned substance.
