Fans of Under Armour get ready because they just released another cross training shoe.
The UA HOVR Rise is the latest cross trainer on the market, and to be honest, it looks incredibly sharp. If you were tuned-in to the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games, then you may have noticed that Under Armour athlete James Newbury wore this model on the final day of competition.
Compared to other UA cross training models, this shoe is designed to be slightly more versatile in the gym compared to a model like the TriBase Reign, which has a firm outsole and 4mm heel-to-toe drop. The Rise is somewhat similar to the UA HOVR Apex with it's 8mm heel-to-toe drop and HOVR midsole. However, the HOVR Rise comes in at a price of $100.00 USD and weighs considerably less than the Apex.
In Under Armour's press release, Evan Lok, UA Senior Footwear Designer explained,
“With the UA HOVR Rise, we focused on the importance of creating a stable, yet cushioned platform. This is achieved by balancing the midsole stack heights, overall midsole geometry, and incorporating HOVR technology to bring the athlete closer to the ground without sacrificing comfort or cushioning.”
Over the next month, we'll be putting the HOVR Rise to the test, so stay tuned for our in-depth cross training shoe review. If you don't want to wait and you want to snag a pair now, then check out the HOVR Rise below!
